Awarded to members of NSW Police who collectively come together for a common purpose and perform outstanding service which may involve bravery or other actions of obvious merit.
 
For the purpose of this Award, police personnel may be drawn from different strike forces, task forces, operations, sections, units, groups, commands, regions or police stations.
 
It is worn on the day to day uniform and a miniature is worn on evening wear. A further award is by way of a silver star on the citation – up to a maximum of 4 stars
