Established in 2001 by the ACT Government, the ACT Community Policing Medal provides recognition from the government and people of the ACT to the members of the AFP who police the ACT.  This medal is awarded to celebrate the often unrecognised achievements and dedication of the police who have sworn to protect the community and to help people in times of distress or trauma.  Backdated to 6 December 1988, the medal is awarded to members of the ACT Policing for at least ten years' diligent service.
 
Clasps are issued at 20 years of service to the ACT.
